March 13, 2015: Field Trip To Jamestown Settlement and Celebration of Pi Day

Our class went to Jamestown Settlement for a Tour of Slavery in the colonies. We then explored the outdoor living museum of the Native American Tribes, explorers ships, and Colonial Settlement. The students learned a lot and also had a lot of fun!

We stopped for lunch at the Jamestown Pie Company to celebrate Pi Day: 3/14/15. We had to celebrate Pi Day on the 13th because Pi Day was on a Saturday. The food was delicious and the staff were very kind to us!
The students were excited to tour the Jamestown Settlement Museum, with a focus on Slavery.

The students had a blast playing a game the Native Americans played that is much like basketball.

The Powhatan woman discusses basket weaving and pottery.

The boys explore the giant fireplace in the settlement.
